Sadler, science teacher at T’, . ■•■'Rcham Central High School, became a vice president and di rector of t he Virginia Education Association January E by virtue of Ins presidency of the YEA's District J. The Association is the organi sation of teachers in Virginia. Virginia Graduate Mr Sadler has been connected with the schools m Buckingham County for many years. Before coming to Vug.nia he was associ ated with a military ‘school in Maryland for six years. Several units Mr. Sadler has served as president ol the Buck ingham Education Association, ins last two-year period ending this past Jum He also served as vice-president of District J before his recent election to the presi dency He holds a b. A. degree from the University of Virginia. Diliwyn Rt 3 M M. Davis has been sick for sometime. We hope he will soon regain his usual health. Visitors of Mr. and Mrs. J. G. Atwater for the week end were Mr. and Mrs. Tommie Nixon and Judith, of Richmond. Mrs. Nixon wishes to announce that her two children. Jerry and Judy White, by a former marriage, have been adopted by Tommie Nixon. They heve the legal papers all fixed up md everything finished, so they are now Jerry and Judith Nlxo» instead of White. There were a good many hun ters around here last Monday and Tuesday, from Richmond, finish .ng up the final days of hunting season. They killed a lot of small game. It seems there Is plenty of game left. Mrs. Reed Miller and a friend. Mi'S Jones, visited Mrs. J. J. Stinson last Tuesday night. Sun day visitors in the some home were Mrs. Walter Cox. Junior have 1 seen a "western rainbow.” ■ Mr. and Mrs. Herman Springer! were visitors with their parents,! at Buckingham, Saturday and Sunday.

Mt. Zion Miss Mary Anderson. Bernice Anderson and Bernice Jr., and Herbert Anderson went to Rich mond to the funeral of Ernest Cole, a former resident of this section. His passing shocked his many friends here. Mr. Cole had been a useful citizen, working for his community, the schools, the church and his fellowmen. __ Guests in the home of Misses Mary and Louise Anderson re cently were relatives from Char lottesville. Mr. and Mrs. George Boatwright. Mr. and Mrs. Dick Ergenbright and little daughters, Anne. Eva and Nancy, and Mr. and Mrs. M. K. Davis. Ray Davidson is ill with a se vere cold and fever. Mr. and Mrs. M. K. Davis visit ed In the Willie Tatum home re cently. Miss Page Tatum and Latham Harvey were also guests there. Society Meet* The monthly meeting of the Missionary Society was held at the home of Mrs. Tommy Hud cens, with most members present. Mesdames Alma Hudgens. Johnny Phillips.
