(SO Amelia Scales Termed ‘Correct' A report showing that 87 per cent cf all Amelia county scales tested were correct was presented to the Amelia board of supervisors Mon day. In 1965. 25 per cent of the scales tested were incorrect, as compared .with this year's total of t:i per cent. The hi per cent which were re jected will be retested as soon as elapst to pet mil necessary repairs and replace ment. Of. the gasoline pumps and grease measurers in use at service sta tions. 21 per cent of those tested were rejected. Only 17 per cent were measuring inaccurately The others which were rejected failed to conform to. specifications. Correct devices are marked with a black and white approval sticker p."eentacewlse the greatest in accuracies came in warehouse scales, with 50 per cent found in accurate. Only two were tested. "Su sie the Siren." a three-act comedy by Anne Coulter Martens, Friday and Saturday at 8 p. m. in the high school auditorium. Linda Parkins, class president, will play the title role. Amelia Lions will present a ' Hometown Jubilee' Thursday and Fiiday at the War Memorial build ing:. at 8 p.m, * Local talent will be featured, with all proceeds to be used for an Amelia schools eye clinic. Mrs. Mary K Brown, of Denver. Colo., is traveling around the country or ganizing similar shows for the Lions. In Amelia. James Allen, Robert Willis and Walter Combs are plan ning the event, which will honor two, leei] couples who have been mar ried over 50 years One couple will be honored each night. A king and queen of the baby con test will be crowned at the Friday performance, and the Amelia High School girls’ chorus will sing. Tom Start. masquerading as Bob Hope, will be' master of ceremonies, and Mary Woodford Ward will be the pianist. Mrs. George Anderson will imi tate Dinah Shore, and Wiley Paul will imitate Bing Crosby. Other impersonations to be given are Leroy Smith and James Allen as Toby and Ephoh. Mr. and Mrs Alexander Jones, as Fannie and Ernest, will demonstrate an old fashioned proposal, and Eddie and Gail Ashman, as Butch and Babe, will demonstrate a mod ern version.
