* , Self-employfcd people who are planning to file a claim for social security benefits should bring copies of their 1957 tax return Including their-Schedule C or Schedule F, plus a money order stub] Internal Revenue receipt, or other evidence that the return was filed, according to Robert Parsons, Assist' ant Manager ofithe Alexandria office of the Sociil Security Adsministration. The original of this return should be filed with the District Director of .Internal Revenue.

• Parsons pointed out that it is expected that many self-employed - persons who have reached » retirement age (62 for women and 65 for men Y will retire or limit their activities this year and apply for their social security benefits. He emphasized that the self-employed applicant’s claim will be processed much sooner if he presents a copy ; of his income tax return, along • with evidence" that it has been filed with the Director of Internal Revenue. A receipt for the tax . payment such as a cancelled check may be accepted as proof the tax return was filed. ' . '
