We attended the party last Wednesday afternoon, honoring the Ned Johnson’s as one of the six families in Virginia to receive the'Master Farm Family award, and rightly do they deserve the award. We were met at the door by X{d and Elizabeth and Ned IIL.lt was certainly a shame Betty couldn't be there to hear what nice things were said about her, as well as about the rest of the family. The first thing that caught our eye was a beautiful bowl of apples on which big Ned said he had. worn out a pair of pants shining. As the guests left after enjoying a wonderful punch, which tasted strongly of apples, and the most delicious cookie^ we were all presented with a bag of chestnuts which had been raised on the farm. They have tsvo acres in chestnuts.
Sonny Porter is at the shop how welding a piece of broken machinery and as I sit by the window, I notice he has written on the side of his truck, “We weld anything' but a broken heart.” Isn’t it' a, shame they don’t have a machine to do that also. Sou*_until next
