As we read the Christmas stories in the second chapters of Matthew and Lute we realize that the two Evangelists are telling .two aspects of the story of the birth of Christ. Matthew tells the story of the journey of the .Wise Menr to Bethlehem bearing their gifts for the newborn King. Luke on die other hand, tells of the trip of Mary and Joseph to Bethlehem because of the order of Caesar for all the people to be enrolled. Then he tells of the coming oj^the shepherds to find the newborn baby of which the angels had told them. It seems jthat everyone con.tmed with the birth of Christ had gone somewhere on a journey.
There is a symbolism in each of these thrde journeys for us today. Each of us make our own spiritual* journey to Bethlehem during this Christmas season. Like Mary and Joseph we can journey to the Christohild in his church so that we can be counted as a seeker, a follower of the Master. Like the shepherds we can come to see this child which has been known to us and to Worship him. Like the
