Twenty-seven proud seniors re-, :eived diplomas from Rappahannock County High School Wednesday^ night, June 11 at the eight 3 annual graduation exercises." Rev. John Divers gave the invocation and Paula Miller made an address of Welcome followed by selection by the Glee Club under the direction of Mr. Level. Class data was given by Eleanor j Jenkins' and Lynn Lillard. -l>. Principal H. B. Winfrey con- 1 gratulated th* Class on their achi- j evement and wished them well. Diplomas were presentd the gradi rites by Q. D. Gasqtfe, Superintendent' of Schools and the Glee Club same ”H alia of Ivy”. Joyce W alter, Valedictorian/ was introduced but was uoable to * make he* tlplk since she had l>ccr* hospitalized \ for several days and was released only time" for the commencement. The pregrath closed whh a candlelight recessional and the Bene- ^ diction. ' Johnny Weaver, President of - the Class, presided at the exercise.

On June 2 at 2;20 p. m. a 1957 Chevrolet station' wagon owned and operated by Thomas A. Smith , of Bowling Great, Kentucky and carrying several 'passengers/ collided with a 1953 Studebaker owned by James^rrfigsby of Amissville and operated by Russell Thomas Haynes.
Mr. Smith received bruises and abrasions of the right shoulder and ■ chest Mrs Lorene Smith, a pos- f sible, skull fracture and abrasions of both arms; Edith Spear, a sprat-/ ‘ ned neck and lacerated wrist.

Thomas’Haynes was jailed and charged with hit arid ran and per- *<. sonal injury. ^Approximately a year ago a motorist was fatally injured in this same location, a straight stretch of highway.
