Each of* us is familiar with the account of Paul on the road to Damascus as it is recorded in the ' ninth chapter of Acts. Paul was a man with one goal in his life, that of stopping the followers of Christ, Btft as he traveled to Damascus, _,Paul ^experienced the Divine Encounter. Paul accepted this En• counter as the call of God to meet Christ and to aline himself with the Christian movement. Be.cause Paul dared to accept the Divine Encounter, his life was transformed and used to advance God’s Work among mankind.
Each ot us have had or will have our own Damascus Road erf: perience. God, at some time m our lives, makes his Divine Encounter With each of us. In some way he . . 'calls us to take our place in, hiS Kingdom. He may call us in a great emotioned outbreak. Or, he may call us in a gentle, quiet, sim, pie way to come and follow his beloved Son, Jesus. When this call comes to- Us we must accept it. We inust place our faith and trust in * God and take our place id his king' dom. » 1 ■
But* what happen* to us when. . we accept the call of God? With the acceptance of the Divine Encounter comes a change, a transformation of out lives. Our lives become Useful instruments in the -.-hands* of God. . . i There are many people who feat.' accepting God’s call because it in-. solves change. Change involves insecurity. Things that have made us feel secure may pass from us. We will have to learn a new.way. „ o,f life. Because we do not want to see change, we reject the Divine - Encounter."
If for once we would forget our fears and accept the Divine Encounter,. we would find that God • would transform our lives into
