* The citizens of Rappahannock County are invited by Tom Frost, ' president pf the board of trustees, to attend the dedication of the new Fauquier Hospital at Warrenon on Sunday, November 16, at 3.00 *P.M. .
The 57-kd, $1,456,000 struc- f ture will be opened for inspection * by the public following brief ceremonies. Several state dignataries are expected to be present, as well as' officials] of Fauquier County and hdjafceret counties. Refreshments will be served by the hospital’s Ladies] Auxiliary. ; ^
The new one-story brick building is located on a hjll overlooking th? Warrenton By-Pass of U. S, 15-17-29-211. It commands a beautify view of Warrenton and yicinfity. r.nd can be seen for some dist-; aned by visitors approaching along f U.S. 211 and also the By-Pass.
English Construction Company • ©f Altavista, Va. is the general .con- , itractor. They broke ground in April, 1957, and have made steady progress, although delayed for about two months by last winter’* severe weather and by slow delivery of some materials. Architects for the T-shaped hospital - are the Richmond firm o# Ballou and Justice, and Warrenton architect Washington Reed, Jr.; The hospital has been built by. .popular subscription of funds and by .a $585,000 federal grant o|‘ Hill-Burton Act money. The popular donations have ranged from children’s pennies and nickels to a $100,000 gift by an anonymous * donor. In addition, tome 0112,500 has been realized by the sale of die present Fauquier Hospital on Waterloo Street to the District Home a Manassas, which intends to use it for a nujrsing home.
