The chief rocket authority in America today is a German named von Braun. He came to us as a result of our invasion of Germany in 1945. At the same time the Russians, advancing from the East, acquired an impressive force of German rocket experts. This force formed the nucleus upon .which Russia built its present day rocket successes.
In 1945 the President of the United States ordered the American'troops to stop, at tne Oder River in Germany. Fo. two weeks we waited there for the Russians to advance, gaining territory and valuable brains. Much of what the Russians did this week can be laid at the feet of one ma:i.
