Men Represent Farmville Church Presbytery Holds Madison Meeting Four members of the Farmville Presbyterian Church attended the Presbytery Meeting at Madison, Tuesday. Representing the local congre gation were the Rev. James R. Kennedy. W. w. McClintic, J. K. Butler, and E. W. Houpe. Two topics—stewardship and youth vocational guidance—were emphasized at the meeting. Dr. J. G. Patton, secretary of the General Council, of Atlanta, spoke about stewardship. A $50. 000 budget for benevolences was adopted for the new nine-months church year.. The Presbyterian Church will have a nine-months jcar, this year, because of a change of church year from April 1 to Jan. 1. Dallas H. Smith, head of the Board of Education s Department of Chrislia Vocation, of Rich mond. and Dr. Maurice D. Allen, of Hampden-Sydney. discussed the guidance and counseling program that will be instituted at Hampden-Sydney College. This program will be available to all young people in this area soon. Defense Bond Goal Set for County, Andrews Reports Virginia's Defense Bond sales committee has assigned a 1953 goal of $275,000 for Prince Ed ward County.
