S. once not so long ago was but a strange, vague printed word impression for most adult Americans. The inauguration of Dwight D. Eisenhower as 34ih president of the United States was real, alive, inspiring to the tiniest youngster on up in Farmville—and across the U, S. At Farmville High School a TV set was installed in the auditor ium and students watched the proceedings from 11:15 a. m., to 1 p. m. Manv See At Home Eighth graders at FHS, study ing the U. S. system in personal Problems classes, were divided into groups of 20. under the supervision of teachers, and in vited to homes to watch tire events. At the Elementary School, youngsters whose parents request ed it, were permitted to leave school at 10:30 a. m.. to watch in homes where TV was available. For those who remained at school, there was a radio in each room. Later TV-viewing students re turned to render reports in each classroom.
