Two Study Classes Planned by WSCS Of Centenary Church WSCS of Centenary Church met in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Guy Allen, of Cumberland county,: Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 14. The president. Mrs. Conduff | Mathews, presided. The vice-i president, Mrs. John Holman, j presented a new year's program, entitled "A Lift for the Living," j by Dr Ralph Sockman. The! president presented an article from "The World Outlook." Many items of business were transacted. Among them, plans were made to have two study classes within the next two months. Also, plans are on way to send clothing to New Windsor, Md A new member. Mrs. R H. Wil liams. was enrolled. Members present were Mi.-s Pauline Atkins: Mesdames R. B. Addleman. Guy Allen. Mrs William Holman. Olivia Jenkins. Mary Frances Allen and Peggy Scott. Delicious refreshments were served. Putneys m Mrs. Martha Bailey and Mrs. Ruth Smith, of Lexington. Va., were week end visitors of the John Andersons. Mr. and Mrs. Allen Calhoun. Richard Calhoun and Little Anne visited Mr. and Mrs. John G. An derson Sunday night. Mr. and Mrs. Alec Parker and sons soent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Bollinger. Nathan Bell was operated <n last Thursday at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Richmond. Va. Mrs. W. C. Diggs is spending some time with Miss Marietta Bell. Allen Calhoun and family dined with Mr. and Mrs. Bert Walker Allen. Sunday. The Circle will quilt a quilt Friday morning and the meet ing will be in the afternoon. Conduff Mathews, were elected, also. The pastor, the Rev. J. S. Kmc, attended the meeting.
