ARMY CAPT. Melvin Garten, o£ Brooklyn. N. Y.. has been rec ommended for the Congressional Medal of Honor. Garten led a final smash by only eight men through body-tilled trenches that drove of! the enemy though he had l)cen ordered nut to enter the fight for a strategic hill in Korea. Ho is now executive officer of the 1 t Battalion, .list Regiment, 7th U. S Infantry Division.
