Flint Hill 11 Chiefs 2

Evens Playoff Series

Playing at their favorite ball park, Moffet’s Field where they haven’t lost a game this year, the Flint Hill A. C.’s continued, to make life miserable for Rappahanock pitchers by trouncing the Cheifs, 11-2. Each team has now won one game in the best 3 of 5 playoff series. >

Flint Hill started the ball rolling in the 3rd inning by scoring twice on Elmer Foster s basesloaded single, and added another lone tally in the 4th, but they turned the game into a massacre in the 5th when they blasted across five runs to take a commanding 8-0 lead. Bobby North’s two-run homer highlighted the attack. Flin tHill added three more runs later in the game, two on sacrifice flies. Both of Rappahannock’s runs were unearned.

John Pickrell. who won his second game against three losses, went the distance for the A. C.’s while striking out nine and giving up only two bases on balls. Jackie Sisk, first of three Rappahannock hurjers was the loser.

Flint Hill’s offensive attack consisted of 18 hits, their second highest one-game total of the year, ffugs Jenkins had five hits in six ?t-bats. and became the first Flint Hill player to bang out that many in a game. Bobby North batted across four runs to bring his runsbatted -in total in the playoff games to nine. One odd fact is that, although Flint Hill has defeated Rappahannock in all four games played rf Moffett’s Field, they have yet to defeat the Chiefs at Flint Hill, where Rappahannock has twice emerged victorious. The two teams meet at Flint Hill on Sunday for the third playoff game. Flint Hill’s latest hot streak combined with R a p p ahannock’s “jinx” over the A. C.’s at Flint Hill park, should make for a very interesting contest, so
