Several owners of beef cows in Rappahannock chose seveial years ago to enroll their herds in the Virginia Beef Cattle Improvement Association’s record of performance testing program. This step paid off last week for Ned Johnson and I.ncio Kilby in a couple of ways.
First of all the official tvpe and growth rate scores of each rawoffspring told them which of their heifers calves were the best ones to keep as herd replacements.

Seventeen he.pl were shipped last Friday from Rappahannock to the “Coastal Bermuda Grass King’ of South Carolina. The remainder of the order was filled from herds of Culpeper. Albemarle and Rockingham Counties.
