, The annual 4-H Sheep Shearing contest was held April 23rd at the Front Royal Experiment Station f Jack Sisk of Speriyville won first place with a total of 94 points and sheared two sheep with an average • of 7.3! minutes per sheep. The* boys in the contest were judged on absence of second cuts in -fleece, condition of fleece, manner of handling, absence of cuts on sheep, appearance of, shorn sheep and * time.: ■■

Mr. Lewis Smedley. of Washington, D. C., formerly of Washington, Va., who has been employed by Woodward and Lothrop’s as guard for the past twenty years was admitted in the Twenty Year Club Saturday April 26th , with thirty-one other new members. Also present were ajl former club and retired members. A hpfiquet was given at the Statiirl Hotel.
