The Division of Water Resources has ^installed another gauging station m Rappahannock on route729 where it crosses Battle Run at the John Williams property as , result of Rappahannock’s Water • Resources Committee. This committee, -lyhile in session last summ e r, had requested .additional gauging stations in order that more information might be made available on run-off watejr in thecounty which might be empounded by fanners under existing laws governing use^f water. One other gauging statiopl is in operation and is located just'east of Washington where highway 21.1 crosses Rush ■.River.
It was' felt that the station ' which was. in operation on Thomton River at Laurel Mills for a decade or more allowed sufficient information on run-off water coming from the above laying areas that it need not be reactivated. For .. . Continued on Page Eight
