' In Spite of the great handicap caused by rain, the Washington Firemen’s Carnival and Party finally ended up with a small profit. With nearly all bills received and paid, the Treasurer reported Tuesday that it appeared as if a profit of approximatly $300.00 would be realized from the four nights operation. The Company wishes to thank alii who helped with the carnivaland the sale of of the car and to express its appreciation to the people of the County for thir cooperation. -
Mis# Mable Hawkins was cmwned queen and Miss Shirley Smoot maid of honor. Prizes were won by Tom ifassie of Washington, who won fhe 1958 Ford sedan. Mrs. M. R. Bradford Jr. won the electric skillet and the bath room set which had been donated by Mrs. Irving Sisk.
