6. the Secretary of Agriculture announced that the national quota for 1953 would be increased by 60.000 000 p winds. That in crease over the preliminary quota approximately offsets the amount by which the 1952 crop fell be low pre-season production esti mates. Thus, the revised 1953 quota is 1.294.000.000 pounds, which, con verted to acres on the basis of re cent yields, results in a national allotment of 1.048.000 acres.
