Christmas The Washington Volunteer Fire Company wa/ called out on Friday, December 21, and its quick response and efficient work is credited with saving the new Post Office building and many Christmas presents and other mail for residents of Rappahannock. The fire, which originated in a trash basket in the* rear of the building, was discovered by Edward Bailey, Jr. about 6:30 p.m.
A number of parcel post packages were burned and considerable damage done to the interior of the office.
Doa Owners Warned
Of License Dead Line
Webb Midyette, Chief of the Law Enforcement Division of the Commission of Game and Inland Fisheries, calls attention to dog owners of Virginia that the dead line for procuring dog licenses ends January 31, 1^57. All personst Midyette said, who have not procured appropriate dog licenses by that time will receive a summons to court for failure to do so.
