Some dairymen are exjtriencing. difficulties today, but don’t count: the dairy industry out. It is sdll one of the strongest segments of _ American agriculture and it always will be. * That was the advice given to state and national winners in the Rational 4-H Dairy Awards Program. The winners, meeting in Chicago for the National 4-H Club Congress, heard this forecast from Dr. H. E. Bechtel, Director of General Mills’ Larra ResearchFarm. Dr. Bechtel spoke to the group at a breakfast given by the Larro Sure Feed Division, donor of awards for the 4-H Dairy Program.
'“Change is, and will be, the order of the day in agriculture,” he told the winners,'“and young menand women who recognize this fact and prepare themselves to take] advantage of the opportunities brought about by change will find agriculture a challenging and rewarding career field.”
Dr. Bechtel urged the 4-H’ers to regard the future with urgency ^ —not treat it as something that will happen at a far distant .time; ,
