John H. Swindler

Funeral services were held on ^Friday, December 21st, at 1:30 pjn. at the Geest Funeral Chapel, Culpeper, Va., for John Henry Swindler, Sperryville^ Va., who died Wednesday, December 19, 1956, at his residence after an illness of 10 months. The Elder Russell H. Thompson of Washington, D. C., conducted the services, assisted by Elder J. Harvey Daily of Sperryville, Va. Interment was in Washington Masonic Cemertery. I Mr. Swindler, who was 84 years, and 3 months of age, was bom in Rappahannock County. The son of Albert Clavton and Margaret Burke Swindler.

He had been a member of Thornton Gap Baptist Church, for 51 .years and was also a Deacon.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Arminta Bowen Swindler of Sperryville Va. His only child. Lucy Irene Swinder Thompson preceded him in death in April, 1941. Also surviving him are four grandchildren. John Yates. Paul Addison. Albert Clayton Thompson and Mrs. Thomas (Dorothy) Taylor, and 3 great-grandchildren. Tovce and Barbara Thompson and Thomas Grant Taylor.

Active pallbearers were: A. E*e Syvindler, Edward Bowen, Charlie Comoton. Frank Atkins. Burwell Atkins and Carson Johnson.
