Forest Fire Danger Greater As Hunting
Season Opens
Chief Forest Warden Raymond M Johnson of Rappahannock County stated that he was deeply concerned over an increase in forest fires with the opening of hunting season Monday November 18.
Johnson said that each fall the number of forest fires increases in his county with fhe large number of people using the woods and fields during the first week of hunting season. Although thousands of persons flock to the woods on opening day only a very few fail to follow rules of good fire prevention. The chief forest garden indicated to hunters that the choice for greener forests for better hunting was theirs.
