Delivery Of Tree
Seedlings Begins
'Die first week of December, tire Virginia Division of Forestry started delivery of the forty million tree seedlings that were raised in their two state nurseries. These forty million tree seedlings will be planfed by thousands of landowners throughout the State of Virginia, by the end of March 1958. It is estimated that when ill of these tree seedlings are planted, approximately fifty-five thousand acres of land will be returned to the production of a new foresr crop. |
The Virginia Division of Forestry stated that orders for tree seedlings are being received daily and of the total amount available, nearly thirty million have already been ordered.
During the past three planting
seasons, all available planting stotjk has been sold by the end of January each year. Interested landowners should make inquiry as soon as possible so that arrangjements may be made for tree seedlings desired for the planting season.
