Secretary of Agriculture Ezra -Taft Benson today announced appcAttment of Delman R. Carr of ■Carrsville, as Chairman and Charles T., Sollenberger of Woodstock as a member of the Virginia State Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Committee. Mr. Carr has served on the Committee since January 1956; as Chairman
he succeeds H. Ryland Hefliri of Ruby, who has retired from the Committee in accordance with the rotation policy in effect for StateASC Committeemen
Mr. Carr has lived on a farm practically all his life, and now operates a farm on which are produced soybeans, peanuts, and com. He also ruhs a beef cattle herd and produces hogs. He is a member of the American Farm Bureau Federation and is active in civic organizations. He served on his local County ASC Committee for 4 yean prior to his appointment to the State Committee.
Mr. Sollenberger has farmed since 1938 and now owns and opr-ates a dairy farm where h^ also raises heifers. In addition, he operates a poultry and a sheep faijn, raising Bronze and Beltsville Wljtite turkeys and Hampshire sheep. He is a member of the Farm Bufeau and of, several milk producicrs’ associations.
The third -farmer member of the Virginia State Committee is James E. Warren of South Hill. L. B. Diet rick. Director, of the State Agricultural Extension Service Blacksburg, is an ex officio member of the Committee. <
