Garden Club Holds
March Meeting
The Rappahannock. Garden ( Club held its March meeting at the home of Mrs. James Settle on Wednesday, 'fh^ 25th, with the election of officers and preliminary plans for the forthcoming Flower Show highlighting the business session. Mrs. D. L. Regan was elected president for a two-year term beginning in June, with Miss Annie Stephenson, vice president; Mrs, E. M. Jones" secretary; and Mrs. R. V. Snead, treasurer.
Ma$r 23 was set for the club’s Flowln Show, with Mrs. R. V. Snead general chairman. Other committee chairmen and details of , -the show will be announced later.
Mrs. E. M. Jones spoke on Tender Annuals for the Border, giving cultural needs of annuals arid showing illustrations of their effective use in the flower garden.
Awards for i exhibits went to Mrs. James Settle, who won first, featuring Jonquils in a piece of driftwood; second prize was won by Mrs. W. C. Hall, who featured African Violets with driftwood. Tying for third were Mrs. S. EJ. • flening and' Mrs. J. L. Yowell.
