Forestay School Held
At Banco
On October. 21 twenty-seven students from R. C. H. S. attended a KEEP VIRGINIA GREEN meeting at Banco along with students from Green, Blue Ridge and Madison. Guest Speakers were forest fire supervisors,, Raymond M. Johnson and N_ B. Parrott- Other speakers were Bill Featherstone, W G. Vernom, Ray Hendricks, F. D. Kidwald, W.J. Schroder, John Shavis and John V. Jackson.
The purpose of the all day school is to teach the boys forestry and fire prevention. The classes are held once each year. The highest scores in forestry and fire prevention were awarded to Raymond Daughtry, first, William Monroe School; Robert Lee Williams second, Rappahannock County High School; Warren Breeden third, William Monroe School; Ricky Clinton fourth, Blue Ridge School.
