The concensus of opinion is that Senator Byrd and Representative Harrison are sure winners in their race for reelection Inext week. However, to a candidate all elections are serious,* any election's’dangerous. Particularly dangerous is the typo election we have coming Up this Tuesday, November 4th. Too few voters realize.that victory is never^ certain, and in victory, the .margin of success can be tremendously important.
Mrs. Louise Wensel and Mjv Henry A. Oder, Jr., have ai waged an energetic campam palling for Virginia to accept ;he Federal Court ruling orj; intergration in the public schools. They say to save thi schools, we must mix the races. Senator Harry F. Bynl, with the full backing of Burr P. Harrison, has led Virginia in its massive resists ance fight Against any integration. These men are of the opinion that it is the State’s sovereign right to decide for itself how its schools shall bej^in, and that Virginia has <te-> cided in favor of separation of the races. -
Your vote Tuesday will be counted among the total number of ballots either for or against the Byrd massive resistance program. Equally important),the failure of a number of qualified' voters to cast their ballots would be construed as a lack of interest in maintaining this stand in Virginia.
