If your catfle will be ready 'in the next two Or three weeks, keep close watch on market prices and conditions. The Christmas marker is a gamble. Sometimes prices ,drop off, sometimes packers wind up short and will pay piore for a few good cattle.
For quality cattle, best bet is probably the organized graded far cattle sales at Richmond and Fredericksburg which run from now through April.
At the first sale in Fredericksburg last week, choice steers brought $27 to $28 and good steers $25.50 to $26.50. Choice heifers brought $25.50 to $26.40 and good heifers $24‘.70 to $25.60.
