Monday night when I left home for a dinner engagement in Culpeper the Amissville Fire Company was out on a call ; to a woods fire. In the course of my dinner, Culpeper answered two calls to country fires. One was still raging on Route 229 aa I was going home. It appeared as though a cigarette may have been tossed from a passing auto and burned into a woods n4®rby. In Fairfax County last week a fire was reported every five minutes. When I got ,home from'work last night a field fire had burned into the edge of my yard. The fire company was called two or three times yesterday. These are only a few examples of incidents all over this area. The situation is acute! By exercising a little more caution many of these, fires, can be prevented.
