Karl Burke

Karl Lyndon Burke, 55, of Madison County, formally of Culpeper, died on Sept, 30 at the University of Virginia Medical Center.
He was born in Front Royal on Nov. 24, 1052, son of the late James Lester and Thirza Burt Burke.
Mr. Burke grew up in Washington, Va., and graduated from Rappahannock County High School.
A gifted musician, he served as the organist and pianist at many churches in the area. A designer of flowers, he created beautiful arrangements during his lifetime.
Mr. Burke is survived by his brother, Richard, and wife Judith of Huntly, a nephew, three nieces, four great nephews and two great nieces. Some of Mr. Burke’s closest friends include his best friend Jim Cetto and his wife, Mary Ann of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Barbara Washington of Culpeper.
A memorial service was held at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Haywood on Oct. 5.
