A surprise Christmas party was given by Miss Delores Freeman and Mr.'James A. Freeman in honor of their mother and sister, Mrs. Frances Freeman and Mrs. Mabel Glasker. It was given on Dec. 29, 1953 at 8:30 p.m. at Pine Knot Inn Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Wade Freeman and daughters, Mildred and Mary L. Freeman, Mr. and Mrs. George Hughes and family, Mr. and Mrs. Rebuen Freeman and family Miss Lillian Freeman, Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Glasker and son, Ellis Jr., Mr. Albert Gatewood, Ernest Roy, William Green, Bryant Fletcher, Mrs. Ida Fletcher, Mr. Robert, Thomas, and George Jordan, Mr. Oliver Johnson and son, Oliver Jr., Mr. John R. Summons and daughter, Virginia, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Holland, Mrs. Havanna Jeffries, Mrs. Mildred Williams, Miss Edith Fletcher, Mrs. Rachel Beckwith and daughter, Mary Robert and John Summers, Alvin and Kermit Wallace, Morris and Carroll Glasker, Linwood Jackson, Willie Carter and Raymond Freeman.
Refreshments and delicious drinks were served. Everyone had a wonderful time. They really enjoyed themselves.

James Timbers and daughter of Washington D. C. spent Christmas Day with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Timbers at Greenfield.
