Supervisors Elect
J. P. Cook, chairman
J. P. Cook of Wakefield District was elected chairman of the Rappahannock County Board of Supervisors upon, the resignation of W. C. Cafhpbell tendered in Wednesday’s meeting. ’ The regular bills were presented and accepted. Miss Elizabeth Fuss' gave a statistical report of her work as Home Agent during the year, 1953 « The following persons appeared befor the Board to present sheep claims: J. R. Latham, $40; G. W. Smith, Jr., $75; and Brue Settle, $40. The claims were upheld and the sums were alotted by the Supervisors. A question of increasing the salary of $300 was introduced. A motion in of the Deputy Clerk in the amount favor of this proposal was made and, carried by the six members of the Board. The county fence law, a^ it is and as it will be under the new adoptions was discussed at length but any “specific understanding was postponed until a future meeting thus allowing time for more study, of what is therein included.
