Saturday, May 4. proed another victory for the Carver Band in their march of bringing about a closer relationship of the InterCounty School system The Field Day proved to "he quite successful and enjoyable. The parade began at the home of Mrs. Ethel Railey and advanced along the Main St. to Mt. Salem Aye. and inarched serenely down Gay ht. to Lord Calvert and back up the Main St. pausing, for a while at the intersection of the Merrill Senice Station, where the majorettes produced a marvelous display of a “Wagon Wheel. After giving a talented performance the parade advanced along the Mam St. to Piedmont Ave. and the Washington 'Elementrv School. The band is showing splendid progress and pose under the leadership of their director Mr Colecf, Music Supemsor at Cjeorge Washington Carver Regional Hieh School. We the members of the Rappahannock Carver P.T.A. wish to express our thanks and appreciation to all our friends, white and colored for their ccx»peration. and donations which aided much in making our Field Day a success. Such a cooperaton leads for better citizenship, for which we are proud to be a part of. Marie and Jeanette Bailey, Mary Dade. Mildred Myers. Ivcorfard Brooks and Jane, Arlene and Kermit Wallace represented Rappahannock in the Apple Blossnm Parade in Winchester. They are all members of the George < Washington Caner High School Band.
