Demonstration Work

In The County —1957

Outstanding activities in Horne Demonstration work this year ineludes a County Homemakers Market, publication of the “Hearthstone”, tailoring and sewing classes, publication of Rappahannock Co. Apple Cookbook, 10 4-H Achievement Records completed, a county 4-H yearbook published by the Honor Club, special issue about 4-H in Rappahannock News, Nutrition survey and excellent leadership in both 4-H and H. D. work.

The County Market was organized as a special activity in H. ;D. work with the purpose of adding to the income of families in the county by selling handmade articles. Three markets have been held with a total of $220.30 merchandise being sold. 10 % was used in defraying the expenses of the market (mainly publicity.) Approximately 20 different ladies have given services in selling, pricing, and 65 families have made articles to sell.
