The “Hearthstone”, the Home Demonstration newspaper is published monthly and given to Home Demonstration' members who in turn give to others in the community. Co-authors are Mrs. Barbara Gentiy and Mrs. Mabel Lillard. This newspaper. helps to fill the need of more publicity of the goal and accomplishments of the Home Demonstration Program.

One tailoring class was held in Flint Hill community for advanced seamstresses with 4 suits and 1 coat being made. Simple sewing construction skills were stressed in three community groups: Sperryville, Castleton and Slate Mills and two senior 4-H groups. Members made a house dress or a childs dress.

Favorite apple recipes of homemakers of the county were compiled into a cookbook by Mrs. Tyesvis Cloud, cookbook chairman, and Mrs. Barbara Gentry, cochairman and the agent and at present are ready to be printed. Thev will be sold this fall for $1.00 and the profit will be used bv the County Home Demonstration Committee.

Five Tumor and five Senior 4-H girls compiled achievement re. cords. The Senior girls entered their*records in various state contests. Girls under 14 entered the countv contest and winners will receive countv medals (given by Flint Hill H! D. Club.)
