Madison Livestock
Market Sales Up
Sharply
The sales of Madison Livestock Market hav jumped up sharply over last year according to comparative figures released bv Fisher H. Nesmith Jr,, market treasurer.
Mr, Nesmith attributed this climb to the new out weight sales, chiefly, he said that the put weight have meant far better prices for the farmers, and therefore more livestock has come in. With more livestock in, the number of buyers has increased, said Nesmith, this making an )£vard cycle all the, way rotind.
The comparative figures show that Madison Livestock Market sales in 1957, after the out weight began, show better than a 20 rc increase over 1956, and that the last eight sales in 195^ average 33 r/r above 1956 figures for the same Period.
“We are greatly encouraged." Air. Nesmith concluded, “both hv the increase in livestock and in 'buving power. Madison Market is definitely coming along.”
