7 Outlook

, eggs.4 ■ > Egg prices will probably drop off again this week, as is usual for this time of the year. But even so, it looks like the price level will stay above last year for some time. Receipts are reported as moderate in Virginia. Some have begun to Come in now from the spring small flock suppliers. Richmond price dropped 2c to 47c for Grade A Large,; Harrisonburg \yas down 3c to 44c, and nearby eggs in the New York Market were off 3c at 49-54c for Grade A Larges. Weather has been the dominant factor in delaying the price decline to now. U. S. production in February was down 5%. and the rate of lay was off, too. There were 4 per cent "fewer layers at the end of February, %but the South Atlantic area was onlv 1% off on layers.

STOCKER CATTLE

Stocker cattle prices promise to hold their favorable level on into Spring, backed up by good demand and slightly smaller numbers. * But buyers will do well to buy cautiously, not anticipating abnormally high slaughter prices in the late summer and fall. Prices have built up fast and high enough that there may come1 an adjustment, especially when the usual seasonal
