Actually a person can’t change too much in the cattle business, that is from cows to steers. You start assembling a good herd and you get attached to them not to mention the investment. You get set up in one type of business and (hanging over is not as' simple as it may sound . . too many other factors to consider. I can’t afford not to pay for testing if I’m to stay in the beef cow business.’
While Mr. Comb’s experience with a Bang’s infected herd has Men drastic, and perhaps exceptionally tough, it does show what can happen. May a word to the wise be sufficient . . . test your cows, vaccinate your heifer calves at the right age. Assume the “good neighbor” policy which will help your conscience o stay clear, in health and pocketbook. The first test is free. Should reactors be found tests that follow are free until you get a clean test. In Stonewall and Hawthorne Districts committeemen are working towards getting all cows tested by July 1. If vou live in Hawthorne District call Rodes BrowryBrown Miller, Irvin Wolfe or Jim Yates and let them know the number of cows you want tested. All Rappahannock herds or cows that have riot been tested since January 1, W57 can qualify for a free test.
