Turkey prices should hold the level they seemed to have settled on in the past three weeks through Thursday anyway. But after the holiday, small whites face an indicated supply that reaches 25 per cent above last year. * •
Beltsville marketings may not increase that much as some of the birds may he grown out, confusing the future picture a little.
As, things stand now, total turkey supply on May 1 was about five per cent below last year. Storage holdings were four per cent below, 'hyt reduced slaughter figures pushed total supply lower.
Total hatch September through May has been about 15 per cent below a year earlier. Indicated supplies of heavy breeds are beginning to close the gap on last year, but they will still be about seven per cent below in November,
Indicated supplies of light breeds will be about the same as ' last year in July, but drop to 12 per cent below ia September.
Beltsville white turkeys in the Valley last week were bringing a steady 30 to 30-% cents,

Hog prices are due to See saw up and down for a while, as both supply and demand ireverse their trends and start dropping off. Last week’s dip after a two dollar rise in four weeks was ah indication. Then the pattern usually is that supply begins dropping off faster than demand and a steady price rise sets in to a peak in July.
