A patent^solicitor and president of Stanalchem, Inc., chemical exporters and consultants, in New York, Mr. Quaintance is the sonof Mrs. Raymond G.' Quaintance and the late Mr. Quaintance of Rappahannock. He is a brother of Mrs. H. B. Wood of Woodville and Culpeper and of R. G. Qaintance Jr., of Rappahannock Co., and John W, Quaintance of’ Arlington. and of George L. Quaintance of Alexandria Married to the former Arthalinda Miller Pancoast, he has one daughter, Lucy Ann. . Dr. Quaintance is a graduate of the College of William and Mary, Class of 1924; holds a masters degree from* the University of Pennsylvania, bachelor of lawsdegree from Rutgers University and doctor of education degree from Columbia University. Before accepting his present position, he had taught for a number of 1 years in public high schools of Va., and New Jersey and had practiced patent law for 15 years.
A member of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, fellow of American. Institute of Chemists, president of the Society' of Alumni, the College of William and Mary, and member^of Chemists Club, Dr. Quaintance also holds membership in Phi Beta Kappa, Omricon Delta Kappa and Lambda Chi Al. pha. He is a recipient of the Alumni Medallion of the College of ‘William and Mary and of the Order of Merit of Lambda Chi Alpha. He is listed in Chemical Who’s Who and Who’s Who in the East.
