Ivory £L Atkins ji*., age 18 yeaiw ^ and son of Mr. and Mrs. Ivory S. Atkins Sr., of Flint Hill, Rappahannock County., Va. was killed on Thursday morning, June 12th., 1958, near Warrenton, Virginia, while* operating a truck at \ a government signal beam project in an unusual accident. Death was due to a broken neck; when found; caught between the chassis and dump body of the truck.
Besides his parents he leaves a sister, Miss Mary Ellen Atkins of Flint Hill.“Also his grandpar- - ents, Mr* and Mis. Grove Atkins of Rappahannock. He was a member of the Flint __ Hill Methodist Church where funeral services were conducted by his pastor, Rev. A. D. Goodson on Saturday afternoon, June 14th., with burial in the church cemetery. TTie active pallbearers were neighborhood boys and close friends, . who were Lynn Atkins, Mike Vest Lynn Lilliard, Galley Smith, Nelson Atkins Jr., Johnny Browning, Lester Clatterbuck and Lewis Clark. .. , There was a large profusion of floral tributes which were carried to the grave by a group of the young ladies and men of the community. . . : , ‘ ■ The Geest Funeral Parlors of • Culpeper and Washington, Va,. were in charge of the arrangements.

Airplane Course
Specialist First Class Earl W. Burke, 2(5, son of Mrs. Mary E. Burke, Washington, Virginia recently completed the eight-week 'airplane maintenance course at the Army Aviation tenter, Fort Rucker, Ala. •
Specialist Burke entered , the Army in 1948.
He attended Rappahannock High School. His wife, Hilda, lives in Dothan, Ala.
