Mrs. Oliver Yowell was die guest for several days last week of Mrs. Frank Wood and Miss Mary Miller Wood.
Mystery Farm
Five people correctly identified the Mystery Farm last week as “‘Shingle Shanty” belonging to— Mrs. Holmes Hall of Woodville, and it has been verified by Mrs. Hall.
Mrs. Lee Gore was the first to identify the farm and will receive a subscription to the Rappahannock New*. Others correctly identifying it were: Bill Lyne, Mrs. Gordon Thornhill, Mrs. Wade Massie. and* Mrf. Frank Moffett.
“Shingle Shanty”, located on route 618 near Woodville, consist* of 27 5 acres and has been in the family for four generation Mrs, Hall who has owned it for 45 years inherted it -from her father, Robert E. Miller. As with most Rappahannock farms apples and livestock are the two major crops produced along with Small grain and com. Mrs.' Hall has a herd of Angus steers and also rents pasture to a fanner who raises herefords.
Mrs. Hall has one son, Robert Reynold who is currently employed in the tobacco industry in Richmond. She is a member of Reynolds Memorial Baptist Church at Sperryville and is a member of the U. D. C. and D. A. R.
