Red Hill Farm Hunteid Nov. 15
Red Hill Farm* in ttx Amissville section of the Rappahannock. Hjunt territory, was the setting for the November 15 hunt. The 800acre farm of Mr. and Mr*. VV. G. Eastham, with its wide-open galloping fields surrounded by timbered foot hills, gives one the “big-sky", feeling of the Rocky Mountain, ranch country.
Fourteen hunters turned out on this overcast, dampish Saturday morning. Our guest from farthest afield was one of Virginia's *ct complished horsewomen, M i s a Frances Newbell, honorary whip 6f the Deep Rpn Hunt. The half-, dozen juniors riding made the day eventfull: Buckie Fletcher, little Donnie Eastham, ten-year-old Terry Guthrie, Sue Laing, Ginny Wilson, and Jeamtie Eaton, grand daughter of Mrs. Leslie Saunders of Warrenton.
The Joint-Masters, Jack DeBergh and Jim Bill Fletcher, took die field up to die Great Beyond, a high meadow from which all ; .die open country thereabout can be viewed. Hounds went into the pines toward Little Battle Mt.f then worked Around in the direcion of Hog Back. /
The da^ was deceptive in that ,the damp, heavy, still air promised good scenting, but. became of the dryness of the ground and the “com flakie" crispness of leaves, hounds did not have good tracking. The hunt came in at one o’clock without a satisfacory run.
The panelling on Red Hill farm deserves comment and compliment., Donnie Eastham has made, it possibly to get from field to field and into and out of his adjacent woods with a lot of pleasure to a huntin’
