It is important t6 keep in mind the basic purpose of foundation planting is to create an over-all pleasing composition; Think first in terms of trees and shrub masses and how they blend together into a pleasing composition. When the planting arrangemejnt is being considered, take time tjo visualize how large these trees and shrubs should be in years to come. If you know ahead of time thit for the best landscape effect the plantings at the corners should be about five feet tall, select a plant that normally grows about that height or be prepared to start pruning as the plant approaches height.
