I he Knppahanno.'jc r arm Bureau i$ urging all <htep growers in the county to vote “NO" in the referendum being held during the entire month of September. Gen. Daniel Noce, f*rr»' lent, said that the Fann Bureau btiieves in voluntary self-help programs under the sponsorship of producers of any given commodity but that the pres ent program does not measure up.

Th* Farm Bureau opposes the program basically for the following reason?:

(1) The USDA or any other branch of the Federal Goverrment i„ net the agency to collect funds from farmers to be used in promotion. .

(2) We have consistently opposed all compulsory check-off programs.

(3) The facts indicate that the funds obtained from farmers have not gained satisfactory results in the sale of wool and lambs.

Farm Bureau is for a voluntary promotion program such as is being conducted now bv the National Livestock and Meat Board.
