Farm Bureau Essay
Contest Winners
Tlie Rappahannock County Farm Bureau sponsored an essay contest for students of the high school the latter part of the last school session. Topic for the essays was “The Foundation Of American Greatness,” and cash prizes were offered for first, second and third place winners.
At the meeting of the Farm Bureau last week winners of the contest were announced as follows: First, Shirley Brown, Sperryvjlle; second, Nancy Wood, Washington and third, Mark Harris, Huntly. Prizes are $10, $5 and $3 respectively. The first place essay will be entered in the Third District contest. If the District winner is from Rappahannock, in addition to the prize of $10 offered, the local Farm Bureau Chapter will also award another prize of $10,
The District winner will be entered in State Competition.
The local chaper of the Farm Bureau will sponsor an essay contest again this schoo* year and plans are being made i.j <ret it under way earlier in ih- . :=/on so it will not come at t'.v end of the year when there arc ;■> many other activities taking place in school.
