Four tons of coal were delivered to the Rectory in Washington one day last week. When the Rector was informed the only way to get to the basement coal chute was for the truck to pass over the septic tank. He was very apprehensive about possible damage to the tank, but finally agreed. After the truck had gone the Rector happened to look out arid saw, much to his horror, water bubbling at the top of the tank.
He immediately sought an authority on septic tanks to come and investigate the extent of damage and see what could be done to correct the situation.
Sometime later the consultant knocked at the Rectory door to report that the problem had been corrected. Upon being questioned as to his methods, the consultant revealed that he had simply turned off the garden hose that had been left running.
