By ny musun, both Congress and the Bush administration have failed us. Republican Congressman Eric Cantor's voting record and public statement* have clearly aligned him with the Bush policies of the last eight years. Those policies have had dire consequences for our country.

We believe voting for Eric Cantor to keep his 7th District seat would he an endorsement of those policies which have left our country with a faded reputation for fairness and leadership, an economy that is r struggling and a culture of influence peddling in Washington.

A vote for challenger Anita Hartke, a Democrat, of Amiasville - who has received no money from corporate interests - would sever this bond between money and influence. Ms. Hartke may not have the political acumen and savvy of an Eric Cantor, but that may be just the point. Ms. Hartke is sincere, she is genuine, she is untainted by scandal and the horrible policies of the Bush administration. It is time for change.
