The British can do very little about their situation, which is aggravated by the smallness of the island and its nearness to Europe. However, they may have already done more than the United States. In this country, our armament industry is concentrated in metropolitan areas and an atomic attack on many of our defense plants and industrial cities, where so much of our industry is located, would cause un told havoc and destruction.
